The crankshaft in the LT1 is similar to a small block 350 crank, and has the same casting number: 14088526. But the LT1 crank is balanced differently to accommodate lighter pistons. Consequently, if you are rebuilding one of these engines with an exchange crankshaft, make sure the crankshaft is the correct one for an LT1, not a 350.

Nov 20, 2010 · For cam shafts seeing your going to be running carb and a reg dizzy in your engine you can run any later model hyd roller cam and you can even run reg sbc roller cams but with them you will have to get the noise of the cam turned down so it will work with a retianing plate.
